The Problem
The existing staircase and hallway were dark and dated. The wooden staircase and floor, both in similar tones, limited the light entering the space and made the hallway feel smaller and less welcoming.
The Solution
C&C Joinery transformed the staircase with a combination of an oak handrail and base rail paired with made-to-measure toughened glass panels. This allowed natural light to flow freely into the hallway. To create balance and continuity, we mirrored the wall panelling on the opposite wall, which our clients plan to paint in a light colour to further lift the space. We also installed Knight Tile Karndean flooring, contrasting with the previous dark staircase and floor to brighten the room and enhance the modern look.
The Outcome
The result is a light, airy, and contemporary staircase that dramatically improves the feel of the hallway. The combination of glass, oak, and lighter flooring creates a modern, stylish, and welcoming entrance.
